James Brown
James Joseph Brown (May 3, 1933 – December 25, 2006) was an American singer, songwriter, musician, and recording artist. He is a pioneer of the Funk music genre and is recognized as a major figure in the 20th century popular music for both his vocals and dancing. He has been referred to as "The Godfather of Soul," "Mr. Dynamite," "Soul Brother Number One" and "The Hardest Working Man in Show Business."[4][5][6]
On this day in 1968, one day after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., James Brown helped keep peace in Boston with his music. Here is a clip from "The Night James Brown Saved Boston"
